Too much gas?

So this guy in West Virgina was arrested on Tuesday for passing gas and then fanning it towards a police office.

He’s been charged with battery of a police office because of it.

No, this isn’t some April Fool’s Day joke.

Thirty-four-year-old Jose A. Cruz was brought to the police station, and was being charged with driving under the influence, driving without headlights and two counts of obstruction.

That’s when he passed gas. Cruz doesn’t deny this, but does deny fanning it towards the officer.

If the cop got that upset, I think it’s a good thing he’s not a plumber.

Maybe the guy had an upset stomach. Maybe he was making a silent protest. But to charge him with battery? Come on. Have some sense.
