In the latest scam, people in Northern Bangladesh are falling for the king of all scams.
Con artists are calling people up on their cell phones, and telling them they are genies from the sky. They go on to tell the people they need to send them money, or else something horrible will happen to their families.
Some of the con artists have gotten pretty rich off this.
Apparently, police there have arrested 24 people in the last three months who have been profiting off this.
Personally, I think if you’re foolish enough to send your money away on something like this, you shouldn’t be allowed to own a cell phone.
