So last week was the start of Celebrity Apprentice. [picapp align=”right” wrap=”true” link=”term=celebrity+apprentice+osbourne&iid=6893541″ src=”4/0/2/7/Celebrity_Apprentice_Films_dfc1.jpg?adImageId=11518155&imageId=6893541″ width=”234″ height=”391″ /]
The show is one of my guilty pleasures. It’s a lot of fun to watch, but the predictability is a little too much.
Last year, it was obvious that Joan Rivers and Annie Duke were going to be the final two. This year, after one episode, I would put money on it being Sharon Osbourne and Holly Robinson-Peete.
For one, Donald Trump likes certain people. He sees a lot of these people all the time, and have been friends with some of them for a while. This season, it looks like Osbourne is that person.
It also helps that she is the most famous of the group, and gives a good sound bite.
For Robinson-Peete, after one episode we’ve already seen that she can be bossy and demanding, but also be able to raise a lot of money and be a smart player.
All in all, that adds up to an exciting final. I can’t see people being excited for Selita Ebanks against Michael Johnson in the finals, for example. There would be no buzz for that.
There are also other patterns that already starting to emerge. Rod Blagojevich will be this season’s Clint Black, where a player gets on people’s nerves, does nothing but promote himself, but still end up making it far.
Goldberg could end up being like Jesse James from last year, where he’s not loud or overbearing, but is a nice guy and gets things done.
And the less famous people will be gone first, such as comedian Carol Leifer last week. Look for people like Summer Sanders to go in the next few weeks.
All in all, it’s a fun show to watch, but it would be better if it were less predictable.
