The NFL has decided to give all of us a Christmas present by scheduling a game for today. [picapp align=”right” wrap=”true” link=”term=titans+cheerleaders&iid=6557538″ src=”e/6/c/4/Houston_Texans_v_0490.jpg?adImageId=8642648&imageId=6557538″ width=”234″ height=”312″ /]
Usually, it’s just basketball on Christmas Day, but tonight, the San Diego Chargers will be playing against the Tennessee Titans.
The Titans are trying to make the playoffs, which would be unbelievable after their 0-6 start. It was just a few short years ago that the numbers showed that if you started off the season 0-2, chances were you weren’t going to make the playoffs. Now, a slow start doesn’t seem to matter as much (or a fast start: See Dallas Cowboys and December/January swoon for proof of this).
Anyways, the Chargers are having their best season in quite a few years, and probably have a good shot of going deep into the playoffs. But they’re under the radar because of Colts, Saints and Vikings.
Tonight’s game should be a good one. I think the home team has the disadvantage for Christmas Day games. They were with their families, waking up earlier to open gifts, having to shop the past few days. But the visiting team has been in the hotel for a few days, and doesn’t have those extra distractions.
San Diego is favoured by 2 1/2. Look for the Chargers to take this one.
