For the first time this season, the NFL will be holding a Saturday night game.
And it’s bound to be a high-scoring affair.
When the Dallas Cowboys visit the New Orleans Saints later tonight, two of the top three teams in yards per game will be facing off. The Saints average 426 yards per game, with the Cowboys coming in at 391.
The difference between the two teams come with how they finish getting those yards. The Saints are the highest scoring team in the league, while Dallas only comes in at 13th.
Most football fans know that the Cowboys generally swoon in December. Every year, they seem to do well in the regular season until the month of December begins. Then they start to lose, until their inevitable playoff defeat.
This week may be different. The Saints, although perfect at 13-0, have had trouble defeating teams lately. They barely beat the Falcons last week and Washington the week before. Five weeks ago, they struggled against the Rams.
But if the Saints pull off the victory this week, they have another couple of easy games coming up (the Buccaneers and the Panthers). This will be their toughest challenge, and they’ll be more prepared as they look to go perfect this season.
The spread is 6 1/2 in favour of the Saints. I think they’ll cover it and win by at least a touchdown.
