Drinking on the job

There’s some interesting news stories out there today.

One of which has to do with the courts in Peru saying you’re allowed to be drunk at work.

Apparently, this has angered the government there.

It all started when Pablo Cayo was fired from his job as a janitor for the municipality of Chorrillos for being drunk. But the courts say you can’t fire a drunk person because they haven’t harmed someone.

I think this is a bad mistake. What about someone who drives for a living? Or takes care of children? As long as they don’t harm someone, it’s okay?

Not a good day for the court system in Peru.
