#89: Doug Jarvis
When Doug Jarvis played his first game for the Montreal Canadiens in 1975, little did anyone know that more than 10 years later, he still wouldn’t have missed a game.
Jarvis ended up playing 964 straight games, an NHL record. He never missed a game due to injury, suspension or the flu.
He played the first seven years of his career with the Habs. His best season was 1981-1982, when he posted 20 goals and 28 assists.
A great defensive player, Jarvis won four straight Stanley Cups with the Canadiens in the late 1970s.
Jarvis went on to be an assistant coach with the Dallas Stars for 14 years, a record for assistant coaches. He is now an assistant coach with the Canadiens.
