Crimestoppers Facebook

Facebook isn’t just a way to keep in touch with friends.

Instead, it can be used as a way to fight crime, and could cost you your job.

Apparently, this group of five people in Australia went to a restaurant to eat, but left without paying the bill, which was more than $500 in Australian money.

So the owner, Peter Leary of Seagrass on Melbourne’s Southbank, remembered one of them asked about a former waitress. So he called up the waitress, and she recommended checking her contacts on Facebook. He did, and saw the guy there with his girlfriend, who was also one of the diners.

Through that, they found out he worked at a nearby restaurant, and called the guy in charge there. A few hours later, the couple came back and paid the bill.

Wait, it gets better.

The manager of the second restaurant ended up firing the couple, who both worked for him.

Good for him. And good for Leary for his investigative work.
