Poker brats

I’m a big poker fan. I watch almost any poker if it’s on TV.

But it’s getting harder and harder to watch.

The problem is that there are too many players who think they look cool when they berate others, or there’s too much celebration when they pull off a miracle card on the river and think they’re still in the game because of skill instead of luck.

It might have all started with Phil Hellmuth. He berated other players all the time, thinking he’s the best player in the world.

Other player emulated him. Tony G took it to the extreme a few years back during a final table of a tournament.

I’m not saying they all have to be like Phil Ivey, who doesn’t speak or move during a tournament, but it would be nice to see more players like Daniel Negreanu. He has fun at the table, he talks to players, he compliments others on their play.

Those type of players are fun to watch, but these poker brats have to go. Maybe create a rule that any type of insults or over-the-top excitement will be met with a financial penalty.
