So one of the latest crazes I’ve gotten into is Googlewhacking.
It’s a pretty simple game. Combine any two words in the English language, and do a search on Google. You know how Google will tell you how many web sites it found with those words? The trick is that you must come up with a search that will only give you one web site.
There are rules. The web page can’t be just a list of words, like an encyclopedia or a Scrabble word list. It needs to be a natural web site of some type. You cannot use quote marks with your search. The words must be between 4 and 30 characters. For the complete list of rules, click here.
If you find one, you submit it to the Google Whack website. They will be able to tell you if you are the first one to fine it or not.
For example, biodiversified reset returns only one hit.
I started doing it when I saw a book at Chapters the other day. It’s about a guy who found Googlewhacks, and then went to find the people or places and did stories on them.
I think finding a Googlewhack will be added to my list of things of things to do. Let me know if you find a good one.
