Sometimes it doesn’t pay to be nice

In another example of people going overboard, a single mother of four kids was fired from her job at Tim Hortons when it was discovered she gave one timbit (retail price of 16 cents) to a child.

Once the media got ahold of the story, Nicole Lilliman was rehired back, saying it was a mistake to fire her. For some reason, I think she still would have been fired if the media didn’t write about it.

You can read the full story here.

She’s now looking for another job. Hopefully, someone will give her one. Tim Horton’s only made $460 million in the first three months of 2008 alone. Just another example of how sometimes, nice people finish last.
