Freerice.com

If you have a couple of minutes to kill time, I recommend checking out www.freerice.com.

This website tests your knowledge by asking you to guess the meaning of words. For every one you get rice, 20 grains of rice through the United Nations. The rice is paid for by the sponsors on each page (at the bottom of the page, so it doesn’t get annoyingly in the way).

This is a great way to help those less fortunate while improving your own smarts.

If you have one minute, and get six right, you just helped donate 120 grains of rice so others in the world can eat.

It’s a great idea, and it doesn’t take much effort from you to help out.

  1. Hello, another great charity site is AIDtoCHILDREN.com.

AIDtoCHILDREN.com is a dual-purpose site for building an English vocabulary and raising money for under privileged children in the most
    impoverished places around the world.

    Check it out at http://www.aidtochildren.com

Thanks John. I just wrote a post about it. Hope it helps. I will keep checking back to play and raise money myself.

    Thanks for the heads up.

  3. Hey,

Avanoo is a startup that is trying to help make the world better by letting people use a new support channel- web presence. Web users can go to Avanoo.com get a badge for a cause and start raising awareness and donations 24/7 effortlessly. And each time one of these badge is clicked, a donation is made to the nonprofit organization on the badge. If you could put a badge on you blog or write about this growing movement, you would be helping to make the world a better place!

    Thanks,

    Rajesh
