Shawn McEachern is one of those guys who was much better than most people remember.
Despite playing with greats like Mario Lemieux and Jaromir Jagr, McEachern’s best seasons came when he was a member of the Sens.
He scored more than 30 goals twice in his career, both with Ottawa. He had 40 assists in a season once, also with Ottawa. And he broke 70 points in his career on one occasion, with, you guessed it Ottawa.
In total, he had four straight 20-goal seasons as a member of the Sens organizations.
Unfortunately, McEachern couldn’t translate that offence into playoff success. He scored no goals in his last 22 playoffs games with the team, and only had four goals in 44 playoff games.
Still, his offensive skills and leadership makes him one of the Sens top 20 players.
