Chris Jericho assaults fan

I’d like to start off by apologizing for not blogging lately. My computer at home is on the fritz, so I’ve been without Internet for about three days. I will be updating the Top 100 Habs as soon as I get time (probably tomorrow), so be on the lookout for that.

For those wresting fans out there, you probably already know about Y2J Chris Jericho strikingĀ a fan in Vancouver on the weekend.

If you haven’t heard, check out the video below:

I think Jericho was right in defending himself. He’s surrounded by a mob of people that won’t let him leave, security isn’t doing anything, and a woman pushed him. He probably reacted before even knowing it was a woman.

But for all he knew, she could have had a knife, a rock or some other weapon and was about to use it.

Being a professional athlete is tough enough, but having to deal with dingbats like that can be pretty tough.

Top 100 Habs: #66

#66: Pierre Mondou

Pierre Mondou played his entire NHL career with the Montreal Canadiens, and would have played a few more seasons if it wasn’t for a serious injury.

Mondou was selected in the first round by the Habs in 1975. A few years later, he was a rookie on the Canadiens’ 1978 Stanley Cup winning team. He scored 10 points in 15 games that year.

The next season, the Habs repeated their success, earning Mondou two Stanley Cups in his first two seasons.

He scored at least 29 goals in four of the next five seasons, and was seen as an offensive leader on the team.

He retired in 1985 after taking a high-stick in the eye from Ulf Samuelsson.
